A new trend is emerging these days. People who have been in jobs like drivers, labourers, factory workers etc do not want their children to be in the same field. They try to get their children good education so that the children's future is different. As a result we have been seeing an acute shortage of manpower in these fields. We have already seen the shortage of house maids, factory workers. Now over the past few months there has been acute shortage of good drivers, specifically those for heavy vehicles like trucks, trailers. And more than fifty percent of those still out there are on leave for the past couple of months. As a result we are seeing more than fifty percent of these vehicles grounded. The owners of such trucks and trailers who are operating has started charging exorbitantly. The trade is suffering greatly, particularly the import-export wherein time bar is a major issue. Going forward this crisis is going to deepen further and it is high time this has to be given a serious thought before it goes out of hand.
